Walking the labyrinth has been part of the Christian tradition since the Middle Ages. Christine’s labyrinth is a modified replica of the labyrinth placed in the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France around 1200 AD. Like any spiritual discipline, walking prayer in the labyrinth, can bring us closer to God as we set aside sacred space in which to listen.

The labyrinth is a symbol of growth and wholeness. Everything that happens associated with the labyrinth can be understood as metaphor. Christine likes to think of the labyrinth as the Potter’s wheel. “We place ourselves on the Potter’s wheel and ask the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts, transforming us into the likeness of Christ.”

Christine is available for informal talks and formal presentations, workshops and retreats for a negotiable fee plus travel expenses. To schedule an event or for more information email Christine at: christinemerrit@earthlink.net

Patients

I may not leave a

Masterpiece.

But I have touched their bodies,

They have massaged my heart

With their souls.

We know the coming of age

Each instant brings

And happy the heart that sings

Of this days’ tomorrow.

How the tear that glistens in your

Eye

Glides down your cheek with

Mine

Into the river of forever.

This moment of togetherness

Speaks of a life we know of old

And we’ll become again.

When every now becomes

The one of everlasting.

Hearts know.

They tenderly embrace,

While you and I still

Hover between hello

And the next treasure.

Continuous revelation,

The wonder of remembering

Some small forgotten

Movement of my own

Dances with your doing.

Your gifts are more than wounds,

The taste of your shining,

The joy of your breath,

The return of your spirit

Brings me home to us.
